The use of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in a room locking system that contains important data is urgently needed. This is because currently existing security systems such as biometric security, fingerprints, faces, PINs, and RFID are still vulnerable to key hacking. To reduce the risk of hacking, a room lock opening system was created using Quick Response (QR) code technology that can update and generate its own code automatically. This study uses a wifi-based microcontroller (Wemos) technology which is integrated with the Firebase Online Database and also low-power Bluetooth and is available in almost all gadgets. With the integration between the microcontroller and online database, it is possible to use a room security system that is more flexible but safer. Flexible because the QR code is generated differently every time, and it is safer because using a QR system that can generate its own code can minimize hacking or breaking into a room due to a QR security code that changes every time. The results of the research on the application of using QR codes that are generated and changed automatically are that with a maximum distance of 10 meters and there is no barrier between the QR code generator and the user's cellphone, this research tool can unlock doors with a presentation of up to 100% success. Thus this research has been able to minimize the receipt of hacking or breaking into a room.
