Abstract

Teichman et al. review accumulating evidence of the bidirectional relationship between the microbiota-gut-brain axis and host circadian pathway regulation. They examine the potential pathways in which the microbiome can regulate central control of circadian rhythms and influence mood and metabolic disorders. Moreover, they identify areas where further research is needed.
