The NiII atom in the title salt, [Ni(C19H 16N4O)2](NO3)2, is N,N′,O-chelated by two neutral Schiff base ligands in a distorted octahedral geometry. One nitrate ion interacts with the metal atom indirectly, in an outer-sphere type of coordination, through N - H⋯O hydrogen bonds; the other nitrate ion does not engage in any interactions and is equally disordered over two positions in the crystal. © 2012 International Union of Crystallography.
