Cloud computing [1] enables the end users to access the required services on demand without worrying where they actually exists. It delivers everything as a service and is generally termed as XaaS. Nowadays cloud infrastructure becomes popular as it provides services in multiple domains like business, social networking, scientific application, education, gaming etc., Vehicular networks [2] as an emerging research area by implementing different networking technologies for safety and non-safety applications. This paper investigates the utilization of cloud computing concepts in vehicular applications. The need for developing a cloud based architecture and the state of art about the cloud services are discussed. In this paper we present VCR (Vehicular Cloud for Road side scenarios) an architecture that provides safety and non-safety services in vehicular applications. Specifically private and public vehicular cloud prototypes are proposed to provide appropriate services for road side scenarios. The performance of the system is evaluated with the simulation results.
