Abstract

Recently, rare diseases have received worldwide attention. The developing countries have fallen seriously behind in regards to awareness, drug development, diagnosis, and social services. India, which has one-third of the world's rare disease population, has neither accepted definition for RD nor an accurate assessment of the problem.
