Abstract

A fractional order proportional integral (FOPI) controller for the current loop of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) servo system is presented. Oustaloup filter is used to realization the FOPI controller and a tuning method is also given. A comparison between the FOPI and the integer order proportional integral (IOPI) has done, and the study of the robustness of the FOPI has done too. Simulation and experiment results prove the FOPI outperforms the IOPI on control characteristics and the FOPI has strong robustness. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.
