Policing is not a stand alone activity but is affected by many different global changes and other social factors. Consequently police leaders now, and in the future, will need to be aware of potential global activities in order to provide an adequate response to changing circumstances. Further, police organisations will need to be flexible and adapt to these changes in order to remain effective. This chapter considers the potential changes and their impact that will provide future challenges for police leaders.
