Abstract

An experimental setup to realize the quantum kicked rotator by means of a periodically driven superconducting single electron transistor is presented here. The fidelity of such system that displays characteristic features of chaotic dynamics: instability of quantum motion within the Ehrenfest time scale, chaotic diffusion and dynamical localization is studied. The noise effects are taken into account. © 2006 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.
