Abstract

The influence of hydrogen diffusion rates on the pumping capabilities of titanium and other sputter-electrodes and getter materials is reviewed and discussed. Since hydrogen is the predominant gas at the ultimate of a mtal system, its effects on pumping properties at low pressures are shown to be significant.
