This paper covers the global trends and status of genetically modified crops; its benefits; and its potential to contribute to agricultural productivity and sustainability, and meet global food security demands. Notes are presented on partnerships in crop biotechnology programmes of public and private sectors that facilitate biotechnology information exchange.
