Abstract

The College of Nursing at the University of South Alabama collaborates with Allied Health, University of South Alabama Family Medicine, Auburn Harrison School of Pharmacy, and previous students to introduce health care preprofessionals to IPEC, TeamSTEPPS, and Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness. Undergraduate nursing students were involved in this collaborative effort. Team and TS were frameworks integrated into the IPEC. The purpose is to increase students’ knowledge, skills, and ability to apply these concepts when providing patient-centered care that is safe and increases patient and provider satisfaction while decreasing the cost of health care.
