Abstract

A 24-epimeric mixture of a new triterpenoid, 24-hydroxydammara-20,25-dien-3-one (1), and two known triterpenoids, moronic acid (2) and betulonic acid (3), were isolated from leaves of Chisocheton macrophyllus king, and the inhibitory effects of these triterpenoids on Epstein-Barr virus early antigen (EBV-EA) activation induced by 12-O-tetradecanoylphorhol-13-acetate were tested. © 1993, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
