Abstract

The article argues for the professional management in the publication of scientific journals identifying the necessary professional and personal skills. To overcome the shortcomings in the publication of Spanish scientific journals in the Humanities and Social Sciences, it is necessary a new mindset that involves "digital thinking" and management is supported on professionals specifically trained. Technological knowledge are needed in this environment: XML, metadata, rich formats, CMS, editorial management systems OJS type, new formats for reading on mobile devices ... Also another group of key competencies are found in the knowledge of the scientific publishing market their new business models and everything related to intellectual property rights. The relation is supplemented with other skills related to the social web, document analysis and open research data.
