Change Management Education in Social Work Degree Programmes in Germany: Bridging the Gap Between Management Science and Professional Practice

Abstract

This chapter explores the relationship between management education and change management practice in social work institutions within the framework of three inseparably linked dimensions, namely: (1) change management as an object of social management research, (2) social management research as a resource for the justification of change strategies in social work organisations, and (3) professional competence as integral component of management education in social work degree programmes.
