In this work we present the palynological study of a stratigraphic profile from Torreparedones archaeological site, located in the countryside of Córdoba, with a chronology between the IV and I millennia cal. BC. A process of increasing degradation of evergreen oak woodland, which would begin during the Chalcolithic by developing farming activities, is documented. This would become even more evident during the Late Bronze and the Iberian Epoch within the widespread aridity. The relationship of the abandonment of the site during the III millennium cal. BC respect to the 4200 cal. BP abrupt climate event is proposed.
