Abstract

Resilience is currently a crucial concept within disaster risk approaches in urban contexts, providing viewpoints that include sociological, economic and environmental dimensions. This research offers a critical review at urban resilience and its application in the "Quiero Mi Barrio" program under a disaster risk context, to formulate a proposal for strategies that contribute to integrated neighborhood development. The case of the Olga Leiva neighborhood in Peñalolén, exposed to the risk of the San Ramón Fault, is chosen to illustrate this program with the analysis of social, physical and environmental resilience, by using semi-structured interviews and focus groups conducted to expert professionals and academics. It is concluded that situated knowledge of risk and with a specific focus on the San Ramón Fault is instructive for public policy with an urban resilience approach from a multidimensional perspective.
