Abstract

An HIV vaccine is a hypothetical vaccine against HIV, the etiological agent of AIDS. As there is no known cure for AIDS, the search for a vaccine has become part of the struggle against the disease. An HIV vaccine is generally considered as the most likely, and perhaps the only way by which the AIDS pandemic can be halted. The point why this letter was submitted to Turkish Journal of Biochemistry, is my feeling that in Turkey, the 'vaccine' subfield of AIDS research is lagging behind. However, not only the development of research capacity but additionally, fulfillment of the production fascilities construction and management ideal is more feasible nowadays with more participation and organizational capacity promotion of corporational initiatives.
