Abstract

We now deal exclusively (unless specific mention of the contrary) with systems arising from primitive and aperiodic substitutions of constant length-more generally automata-and our purpose, till the end of chapter 11, is to give a constructive description of the spectral multiplicity and maximal spectral type of such systems. We shall prefer to refer to as the spectrum of the substitution. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
