The aim of this article is to present a wear modelling in dynamic and large strains applications. The model is based on the Archard’s law and coupled with contact and friction conditions. A numerical treatment is proposed and developed in this paper. The solver is a non linear Gauss Seidel algorithm adapted to wear conditions. The numerical wear model is applied on biomechanic problems, in particular on the simulation of the wear in knee joint prostheses.
