Abstract

Artificial accumulations of brackish-water shells and marine organisms constucted by ancient inhabitants of coastal regions may, under some conditions, be used as indicators of past sea levels. They are particularly useful in coastal areas that have experienced submergence and emergence once or several times. -from Authors
