Abstract

A lot of development in the field of portable or handheld navigation system has been designed in the past decade. These devices help the visually disabled person in unknown or known places, or whether it is indoor or outdoor. There are different categories of devices like position located aid, electronic orientation aid, or electronic travel aid devices. The paper discusses the various devices designed in the past by different researchers and how it benefits the users in different aspects. Though these devices have improved the living standard of peoples, still it has many other limitations. The paper proposes a model based on Li-Fi technology. The cane is proposed which benefits from the concept Li-Fi for detecting the obstacles; further, an audio signal will be sent to the user giving the direction and size of the obstacle detected. Further, the sensor has been used for giving information regarding the floor whether it is wet or not. In the future, the model will be tested in the real-time scenario.
