Abstract

In this book, we recapitulate some stories accumulated by plants that inhabit the Chihuahuan Desert, in Northern Mexico and Southwestern USA, and more specifi- cally of those living in the Cuatro Ciénegas Basin. Stories based on carefully gath- ered scientific information are presented in 19 chapters in this compendium. These chapters describe aspects of the life history of plants, vegetation distribution, origin and affinities with landforms, and biologically obligated interactions such as water dependence or plant pollination.
