Abstract

Biological bases of the memory of pain are numerous as are the interactions between these two entities. Research focuses on the dichotomy between explicit and implicit memory, on the differentiated storage of somatic and emotional events, on the global amnesia induced by acute pain and on the re-experience of pain without somatic injury. © 2012 Springer-Verlag France.
