Abstract

In this study, a compact new double-negative (DNG) material unit cell structure for multi-band satellite applications has been presented and proposed. A π-shape design has been developed which is splitted at two ends. The structure of unit cell has been designed using CST Microwave Studio and this simulation tool is also used to find out the transmission and reflection parameters for this DNG material unit cell. This unit cell shows resonance in the microwave multi-band (S-band, C-band and X-band) frequency range. It also shows double-negative characteristics in all these above frequency bands.
