Abstract

An essay is presented on the relationship between the Vatican and gender as of June 2011, focusing on the Vatican's apparent opposition to what it views as a gender agenda in terms of the use of gay rights and feminism to redefine secular law. The Vatican's objections to a radical definition of gender, which were made at the 55th session of the Commission on the Status of Women of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, is also addressed.
