Abstract

Introduction: Work stress has been defined as a form of stress that occurs within the context of work, where situations or stressors can be found, both isolated and jointly, resulting in limitations within the work, personal and family area. Also, physical activity is defined as a body movement produced by voluntary muscular action that increases energy expenditure. Objective: Describe what effects physical activity has on work stress. Methodology: Two questionnaires were applied for this research: the IPAQ, the physical activity questionnaire, and the JSS, the work stress questionnaire. The sample consists of 16 employees from different Latin American companies. Results: It could be determined that none of the scales or subscales used has a strong enough correlation to be considered significant. The strongest correlation force was the severity subscale of lack of support from the organization, with a score of 0.378, being below 0.95, the correlation cannot be considered significant. Conclusion: This shows that there is no important relationship between physical activity and work stress. This is due to the pandemic effects of decreased physical conditioning at home and at work.
