Abstract

This chapter describes context-aware crossover. Thisis an improved crossover technique for GP which alwaysswaps subtrees into their best possible context in aparent. We show that this style of crossover isconsiderably more constructive than the standardmethod, and present several experiments to demonstratehow it operates, and how well it performs, beforeapplying the technique to a real world application, theBlood Flow Modelling Problem.
