Blockchain Technology-Based Solutions to Fight Misinformation: A Survey

Abstract

Blockchain has been around since 2009, but it isn’t till the last few years that organizations have been looking into using blockchain for other applications than cryptocurrency. One of these areas is using blockchain for addressing the problem of misinformation. These emerging solutions that are being used to fight and prevent misinformation range from validating news articles, images, videos, and even entire social media platforms. Each blockchain technology-based solution has pros and cons and adopt different approaches on how they aim to prevent and fight misinformation in social media.
