Abstract

Background: Wnt/β-catenin signaling is a therapeutic target in cancer and other diseases but also has important physiological functions. Results: CS-E can inhibit Wnt/β-catenin signaling and interfere with selective transcriptional and biological outcomes. Conclusion: Wnt/β-catenin signaling thresholds control distinct downstream transcriptional and biological outcomes. Significance: The development of pharmacological strategies to dissociate disease-related from physiological functions of Wnt/β-catenin signaling is critical for clinical applications. © 2012 by The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Inc.
