Abstract

In this paper, an approximate scheme is defined for incompressible miscible displacement in porous media. This scheme is constructed by using least-squares expanded mixed finite element method for pressure equation and finite element method for concentration equation. This method inherits all the advantages of least-squares and expanded mixed finite element method. Optimal order error estimates are proved under some suitable regularity hypotheses. © Springer-Verlag 2012.
