Abstract

This paper describes an original approach for browsing video documents. The method is based on the construction of 1-D mosaics. A 1-D mosaic represents the navigation bar used to locally browse through a video content inside a given video shot. The construction of 1-D mosaics is based on the projective transform called the Mojette Transform, which is a discrete version of Radon transform for specific projection angles. Thus, the camera motion parameter estimation required in the 1-D mosaic construction is performed also in the Mojette transform 1-D domain. We illustrate the method on complex video contents such as movies or documentaries. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2003.
