The article aimed to analyze the importance of assertive communication as a strategy to improve job performance in educational contexts. To this end, a mixed documentary research methodology was developed, using newspaper and bibliographic documents extracted from databases such as Web of Science, Scielo, Dialnet, DOAJ, Eric, Scopus; The search and selection criteria for information are set by temporality, the geographical scope delimiting Latin America, reducing the choice to studies that address the relationship between assertive communication, organizational climate and work performance in the educational field. Among other authors, Gómez-González and Gallardo-Echenique (2023) stand out with their contributions; Torres-López, 2023; Bohórquez Guamán et al, 2023; Bernal-Àlava et al, (2022); Mendoza, 2021. It is concluded that assertive communication is a social skill that allows you to express thoughts, feelings and opinions in a clear, respectful and honest way, without attacking or submitting to others. Likewise, it is evident that assertive communication contributes to improving the organizational climate and the work performance of teachers, by generating a positive, cooperative and motivating work environment, which favors the achievement of educational objectives. In the educational context, assertive communication generates several benefits, establishing efficient communication between teacher-student, teacher-teacher, teacher-manager, creates a space for greater coexistence that favors work performance and generates an environment conducive to the encounter of plural thinking., characteristic of higher education institutes; Additionally, it provides future professionals with tools to develop skills that allow them to adapt to different work or social scenarios. Assertive communication as a soft skill entails the development of other skills such as emotion management, productive teamwork and negotiation skills, positively impacting the interaction of individuals in society.
