Abstract

The lipopolysaccharide of Erwinia carotovora was analyzed by quantitative sugar analysis, methylation analysis, and chromic oxide oxidation. This led to the following structure of the core oligosaccharide: Glc1- β - 6 Glc1 - α - (Hep - 7α) - 3Hep1 - α - 3Hep1 - α - (KDO)n - lipid A.
