Abstract

Rather than to speak of "infanticide"', it suits, in Ancient Greece, to speak about "exposition" of the children. It is a practice which frequency is discussed, but that touches, anyhow, principally the girls. Except cases of physical deformities or illegitimate children, it is socioeconomic reasons which explain the importance of this practice.
