This chapter summarises the main findings of the book and presents the concluding remarks. Various chapters of the book show that with proper technical design, appropriate choice of delivery options and a supporting environment, mini-grids can be an effective solution for enhancing electricity access in rural areas of developing countries. The experience from several successful examples of mini-grids in South Asia suggests that success in each case was achieved through a unique combination of critical factors. All successful cases have managed the technology well, ensured effective delivery and followed a business-like approach.
