Abstract

Over a 16-yr period, 127 surgical procedures were performed on 81 patients with familial dysautonomia at New York University Medical Center. Regardless of the type of surgery, certain features of anesthetic care applied to all patients. The purpose of this paper is to review our anesthetic experience in patients with familial dysautonomia, emphasizing principles of management.
