Abstract

In this central chapter of Part I we introduce the basic concepts of the RG method invented by Wilson and coauthors in a series of pioneering articles (Wilson 1969, 1971b,c, 1972, Wilson and Fisher 1972, Wilson and Kogut 1974, Wilson 1975).. A very nice introduction to the basic concepts of the Wilsonian RG can also be found in the book by Goldenfeld (1992), which has influenced our presentation. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
