Abstract

Mobile multi agent based approach has emerged as a new attractive paradigm for the development of large and complex distributed systems. For the efficient communication of mobile agents, architectures employing multiple tuple spaces are frequently adopted, but they also introduce complexities related with fault tolerance and replication management. This paper proposes a federation, a scalable and fault tolerant multiple tuple spaces architecture. By extending Adaptive Distributed System level Diagnosis (ADSD) algorithm, the federation is able to detect and diagnose the failures of its tuple spaces in parallel. We also describe global tuple, a new type of tuple allowing the replication without loss of consistency. Finally, we present the numerical performance analysis of the proposed federation scheme. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.
