O desenvolvimento da linguagem e a educação do surdo

Abstract

RESUMO. Este trabalho teve como objetivo levantar dados que possibilitem uma reflexão sobre o desenvolvimento da linguagem e a sua relação com o desenvolvimento cognitivo e a educação do surdo. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica, buscando-se envolver a posição de alguns autores que abordam o tema. Como evidencia a literatura vista, o surdo dispõe da condição necessária ao desenvolvimento e aquisição da linguagem, pois há que se observar que a surdez não torna a pessoa um ser com possibilidades a menos ou impossibilitada, mas com possibilidades diferentes. A análise do desenvolvimento da linguagem de modo geral e das possibilidades no quadro da surdez, exige que se considere as diferenças culturais e lingüísticas do indivíduo surdo. Isso implica em que não se subestime a capacidade cognitiva e lingüística do mesmo. Palavras-chave: linguagem, desenvolvimento, surdez. ABSTRACT. The objective of this study was, to collect data, to make possible a reflection on the language development and its relation to the cognitive development and the education of the deaf.
