Abstract

1-Bromo and 1,3-dibromo-5,5-diethylbarbituric acid were prepared and used for the conversion of different kinds of trimethylsilyl ethers to the corresponding carbonyl compounds in good yields in dichloromethane at room temperature. ©2007 Sociedade Brasileira de Química.
