Abstract

The author describes a partial resolution of the Weyl-Berry conjecture. The techniques derive from methods of partial differential equations, the calculus of variations and-to a lesser extent-geometric measure theory. An interesting aspect of this work is that it lays the foundations for a theory connecting spectral geometry and fractal geometry.
