Abstract

Congestion occurs in any network whenever the load on the network is greater than the capacity of the network. Congestion control concerns in controlling the network traffic in the network, to prevent the congestion to happen. Congestion control trying to keep away from the unfair allocation that happens in the networks and making the suitable resource dropping the rate of packets sent. The paper represents a solution for the high dropping packets problem of YEAH algorithm by using multipath routing. The proposed algorithm is a hybrid approach of YEAH algorithm with multipath routing called Multipath-YEAH (MP-YEAH) which helps the researcher to get better performance than YEAH algorithm. Simulation results were presented for YEAH algorithm and Multipath-YEAH for controlling the congested network with high throughput, reducing delay with 7.3%, reducing energy consumption with 4.1%, and increasing packet delivery ratio with 24%.
