Abstract

The gamification of learning is an educational approach to motivate students to learn by using video game design and game elements in learning environments. Nowadays different knowledge fields, such as medicine, entertainment, education, among others, are using this approach. HTML5-based frameworks have emerged as information technologies for developing serious games and educational games. This paper presents an analysis of the most used HTML5-based frameworks in order to identify games and learning attributes supported for developing educational and serious games.
