Abstract

This study is about the architecture of the system utilizing for smart phones and the Augmented Reality (AR) technology. AR is the technology of adding various types of information on the real word to create a third space (real plus internet). Smart phone users can learn the AR information provided by the management server. The proposed system utilizes the location-based information in order to provide customized information optimized to various real world environments of the learner. The architecture proposed in this study roughly consists of a mobile-web management server and application of smart phones. In terms of logical configuration, the system consists of mobile devices of the learning service providers and those of the learners, and is designed to raise the learning effect through interactions between 'learners and learning service providers'. The proposed mobile AR learning system is characterized by the configuration and performance of the virtual ecology learning based on the location information of smart phones. This system is expected to contribute to the mobile virtual ecology learning system and the learning method. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media B.V.
