Abstract

Spirooxindole-pyrrolizidine is an essential compound of concern for researchers, especially in its structure which shows some existing bioactivities in medicine. A novel series of spirooxindole-pyrrolizidine were prepared by a onepot multicomponent reaction method. The reaction occurred between α, β-carbonyl unsaturated, isatin, and l-proline through 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction and assisted by Fe3O4-graphene oxide (GO) as a catalyst. The spectral and analytical data have established the structures of new compounds and the catalyst used. The results of the reaction and data analysis showed that two spirooxindole-pyrrolizidine derivatives had been successfully synthesized. The newly synthesized compounds have been tested for their antioxidant and antimicrobial activity.
