Abstract

The article discusses the environmental audit or environmental audit as a tool for sustainability and environmental management system. The overall objective is to search the voluntary and mandatory environmental audit as a tool for sustainability and the unconstitutionality of the law of compulsory audit. The specific goals are to investigate the paradigm of environmental, social and economic sustainability; analyzing the environmental audit or environmental audit as a tool for sustainability and environmental management system; evaluating the constitutionality of the law of compulsory environmental audit in Brazil. The method of procedure used in this paper consists in the examination and interpretation of the subject and the research method used in the preparation falls through literature review, using the cited references.
