In this paper, we describe a novel natural language interface (NLI) called Query Builder (QB). We simply identified some of the limitations that are generally encountered in existing NLIs, and hence implemented the presented NLI system that would address some of these issues. Namely, we developed our own parsing algorithms in order to provide a robust feedback system; a feature that we found lacking in other NLIs. Further, QB has been developed as an intelligent system because it addresses naïve users. This requires QB to be able to interactively guide the user by suggesting modified versions of the raised question. © Springer-Verlag 2004.
