Abstract

Materials have always been a fundamental part of human civilization and social progress. Materials of different kinds have also had a tremendous impact on human society as a whole as well as defence establishments in particular. Since ancient times, human progress has been dependent on the innovative use of available materials. An archaeological system called three-age system that depicts the advancement of societies explains this phenomenon succinctly.
