Abstract

In this paper we propose a new parametric morphing scheme for polygonal meshes. The approach consists of three main ingredients: 1) surface partition of polygonal meshes into different patches; 2) a new parametric morphing scheme of constant surface normal flow and 3) parametric shape optimization. The uniqueness of our morphing scheme is that the shape evolving process is controlled by an optimization and by parameterization of surface patches. Numerical experiment indicates the effectiveness of the proposed approach in engineering applications. © Springer-Verlag 003.
