A method of classifying bovine noseprints by patterns has been described. According to this classification, it is possible to segregate the noseprints of any breed into 5,832 different groups. Thus, this allows only a few prints in each category, simplifying absolute identification. Even if several specimens have the same general classification, enough minute individual differences are present for an accurate decision. © 1952, American Dairy Science Association.
